In this section we will talk about the fourth of July parade. What we did, why we did it and what all we gained by doing such an event.

The annual Fourth of July parade was held on July fourth 2019 at Downtown Columbus. The parade was 1.5 miles long and consisted of organizations, dance groups and other groups showing off that they do and how they represent America.
“Ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.” – John F. Kennedy
We had the privilege of being in this parade where we could show off the American Sikhs and what we represent since a lot of Americans might not know about them.
What was our goal
The goal of participating in this parade was to shine light on the Sikh Community and let others learn more about their culture, what they stand for and some of the organizations they run to bring change to the Columbus community as a whole.
What We Showed
Our parade consisted of children, walking in the front of the group waving the American Flag and dancing in our native dance. The children were followed by women and men who marched together and were dancing to Punjabi music. We also had Banners showing off Guru Nanak Mission as well as other Organization such as "Sikhs of America". We had Punjabi men on bikes showing off their skills and a Jeep with the elderly waving at the civilians.
